#OurProject52: Morning

The time between six-thirty and eight o' clock goes by so fast. One minute I'm in bed scrolling down my IG timeline and the next minute I'm walking out of Savannah's school. The start to each day is truly all about her.

I learned pretty quickly that it works best for us if we get dressed before eating breakfast. So as soon as she wakes up I help her get dressed. There's always a discussion about which bracelets she plans to wear that day and then I do her hair before we go downstairs for breakfast.

By the time she's done eating it's time to jet across the street for school. We normally walk to school but if it's raining or really cold I drive. I feel like so much gets done in that hour and a half. As soon as Little Mike and I get back home I make myself breakfast before starting my to-do list.

  1. Good morning! It does go by fast doesn't it. Trying to think of how my mornings go and it's a blur of feeding, brushing, packing, and driving. With some coffee in there too.

    1. Yes! It's one big blur, LOL! That's the perfect way to describe it.

  2. I get Noah dressed before he eats too. I am always nervous he will make a mess but it works out.

    1. Yeah. Sometimes Sav makes a mess. I just baby wipe those spots and keep it moving.

  3. Loooove the new look. Love!

I also dress before eating. It's food and out the door. My husband on the other hands feeds them before dressing. I guess he thinks they will mess up their clothes. My baby has that same bookbag!

    1. Thank you!!

That book bag was all the rage the first day of school. She had instant friends with those "real" ponytails.

    1. Once you figure out what works for you it won't be so bad. :-)

A routine is so crucial in the mornings and yours seems to work great.

  6. My two year hasn't gotten into wearing jewelry yet, but each morning she asks to wear a dress. If she wants to eat oatmeal or Cheerios for breakfast then I'll put on her dress before she eats. Otherwise I wait until after she eats so we don't end up with blueberry stains on her dress.
I love Savannah's pink Converse. I have a pink and brown pair.

  7. She's too cute! I still do the same thing with my son unless it’s the weekend.

  9. I am just the opposite, I feed Pookah before I dress him. Otherwise, there is food all over him no matter what! And I thought I was the only one who scrolled their IG timeline first!

  11. My morning time with Maddie is so full as well and it goes by so quickly. We definitely get dressed before coming downstairs to do anything else.

I really need to stop grabbing my phone and strolling first thing in the morning (I tend to waste so much time when I do it)!

    1. Yes scrolling wastes at least 15 minutes of my time in the morning. I'm going to try getting right up in the morning. I could do a lot in that 15 minutes.

  12. I am up at 6 with my oldest Erica. She is the slowest. It takes her a full hour to get ready (middle school child) I take her to the busstop (only in the winter) at 7:15 come back home and get Ashley and Andre ready cause they bathe at night and we are out the door at 8:00 cause there bus comes between 8:06-8:20. Then back home to get Erin her breakfast and then feed the twins (Andrew and Jordan 9 weeks old). Before I know it it's 9:00.

So mornings are a blur for me as well. Then it's time to do the same routine at 3.

    I love motherhood.
