#OurProject52: Photographer's Choice

I missed the last couple weeks of Our Project 52. I think I'll do a separate post to catch up on the two weeks I missed. I really want to see this photo challenge all the way to the end.

The weather here has been so nice. We've been outside soaking up the sun and the beautiful Spring temps. The kids and I have been loving it.

Savannah is all about tutus and dresses right now. She wants to wear them all the time. Here she is riding the bike she got for Christmas. Learning to ride a bike has been an interesting thing to watch. I guess it's a big deal going from a tricycle to a bigger bike. She only knows two speeds, super fast and super slow.

I can't wait to watch her become more comfortable up there.

Our Project 52 is hosted by Mimi at Lipgloss & Binky and LaShawn from Everyday Eyecandy.

#OurProject52: In My Cup

Photographing food is hard. I had no idea until I tried to make last night's dinner look food blogger worthy. I kind of left our salmon in the oven a bit too long but it was still tasty. You wouldn't know it looking at this picture though.

I gave up soda and wine for Lent. I don't drink juice and I'm taking a bit of a break from tea so the only thing that's in my cup these days is good ole all natural h2O.

I can only drink water one way and that's ice cold. Lately I have been drinking about four or five twenty ounce bottles a day. I have noticed such a big difference in my body and my skin since upping my water intake. Soda and I may have finally broken up for good this time.

The results I'm seeing have motivated me to keep knocking back bottle after bottle. Are you normally good about drinking water? What's your favorite thing to sip on these days?

#OurProject52: From Where I Stand

Now that my baby boy is entering toddlerhood I am always behind him. Usually I'm running behind him or getting him down from an unsafe place he has climbed to. He's constantly on the move these days.

I love how is teddy trapper winter hat has an ear that's one thread away from falling off. I refuse to fix it because I like how he's destroyed it to a point where it's got that worn cute thing going for it.

From where I stand the days seem long but I know the years will be fast so I try to embrace all the craziness that comes along with having children this young. He's growing up so fast so I don't mind being two steps behind him.

#OurProject52: Love/Heart

I am not a big Valentine's Day person. My husband normally tries to sneak in a gift for me during my birthday celebration the week before. This year was no different. I originally wanted to photo what he got me this year. I procrastinated too much and my roses died. The kids have been playing with my bear and his neck is literally about to fall off. Poor fella.

Yesterday after school Savannah was eating one of the many heart shaped lollipops she received. It looked like the perfect photo op so I reached for my iPhone.

I am loving the camera on this thing. Between how awesome the camera is and the amazing photo apps I learned about during an instagram class my pics have been getting better. Or at least I think they have.

Are you a big Valentine's Day person?

#OurProject52: Eyes

My eyes have been busy reading lately. I got this Andy Cohen's latest book for my birthday and I'm loving it. I'm currently reading several different books right now but his is my favorite. It's a page turner.

I am a huge fan of his show. The book reads like an extended version of WWHL. This book is like his reality show. I'm also reading The Modern Girl's Guide to Bible Study, THP and a parenting book (It's a long title - can't remember the name but it's been eye opening. I'll share it in a Thought Bubbles post this weekend).

What have your eyes been watching or reading lately?

#OurProject52: Motion

Savannah has gotten into the habit of asking to be photographed before school in the morning. This is funny to me because she never stands still for a picture. Lately she's gotten into picking out her own clothes for school. I think that's the reason behind her sudden interest in being photographed.

She is the perfect subject for this week's theme of motion. The girl is hardly ever still when a camera is in front of her. In the above pic she kept dropping her leg up and down. In the pic below she was doing twirls while holding a basketball.

#OurProject52: Blue

I had a hard time coming up with something for this week's photo challenge. We've been enjoying the nice weather outside everyday and I wanted to capture that but I didn't like any of the photos I shot.

While cleaning the baby's room I looked at a picture his sister painted for him before he was born. I love it. The majority of the picture is blue with splashes of other primary colors. I remember being so proud of her. She was already being such a good big sister.

We decided to hang the picture in his room. It's a symbol of her love for him and the playfulness they share.

#OurProject52: Guilty Pleasure

I think I indulge myself with many guilty pleasures. I love fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, apple pie and sushi. I could also eat Chinese food every day without getting sick of it. Don't even get me started on my love for rap music and reality tv (The Alaskan Bush People - a must see!).

No matter what guilty pleasure I'm partaking in I also wash it down with a glass of wine. After the kids go to sleep I love to pop open a bottle and enjoy some peace and quiet.

We live on a military base and our kitchen is a decent size but we don't have a wet bar or a special place for adult beverages. I created this little space on my counter for my glasses. The WINE sign collects all of my old corks. I imagine that one day I'll have enough to make a DIY cork board.

Both photos were taken with my Nikon COOLPIX L100 and edited in iPhoto.

#OurProject52: Morning

The time between six-thirty and eight o' clock goes by so fast. One minute I'm in bed scrolling down my IG timeline and the next minute I'm walking out of Savannah's school. The start to each day is truly all about her.

I learned pretty quickly that it works best for us if we get dressed before eating breakfast. So as soon as she wakes up I help her get dressed. There's always a discussion about which bracelets she plans to wear that day and then I do her hair before we go downstairs for breakfast.

By the time she's done eating it's time to jet across the street for school. We normally walk to school but if it's raining or really cold I drive. I feel like so much gets done in that hour and a half. As soon as Little Mike and I get back home I make myself breakfast before starting my to-do list.

31 Days 31 Photos 31 Stories of My Favorite Things

Favorite past time....

I always enjoyed being shape and working out. I am hoping to make the tips in this picture more of a "present" time instead of a past time. My goal is to be a hot Mama by my Flirty30 in February. The lady in the pic is Jeanette Jenkins. I have talked about her workout videos on the blog many times. Her workout DVDs are an incredible beat you down till you can't do no more kind of work out.

Favorite word or saying...

I am so glad the advice I was given was able to connect with so many of you on Instagram. My Mom said this to me years ago and I never forgot it. I repeat it to myself often. When I feel like I'm going through one of those "Why not me?"situations. It is important to remember that our life journey is not a race or competition but in God's time we will receive all of His many blessings for our life. Complaining gets us no where. Being content doesn't mean you are settling it just means that you are choosing not to compare, compete or complain. If you need a powerful pick me up read this post again.

Favorite view...

The beach. I love the ocean. Savannah asked for a trip to the beach for her birthday and I am beyond excited. (By the way, what kid turning 3 asks for a trip for their birthday.) We'll be visiting this beach next month. Yes.

Favorite fruit...

I love tomatoes. I eat at least two of them everyday. Sliced on a sandwich or diced in a salad they are my favorite fruit.

Favorite Jewelry...

This ring was a Christmas gift from my husband a few years ago. I don't wear it often but I think it's beautiful.
