Chic Mom Style: A Tee and Jeans

Today we went out to run a couple errands and grab lunch. The typical family Saturday outing. I wanted to wear something relaxed, casual and cute. I decided to wear a cute tee and some skinny jeans. I scored the tee shirt during the big Labor Day sale that Express had. My sneakers are the Steve Madden wedge sneakers that I've been wanting since last year. I was able to get them at half the price during the Nordstrom Labor Day sale. The jeans are my favorite skinny jeans. They're probably six years old by now and they have the best fit. Skinny but not skin tight.

Oh. And I wore my hair up in a top knot. It's so rare that my hair is straight and I'm loving wearing it up. I bought some of the marley hair I need to make twists so I'm thinking about attempting that this coming week. We're having our family portraits done tomorrow so I may start them after that.

What do you think of my easy Saturday style?

Stylish Saturday: Spring Haul & Baby Preparation

Alrighty. So here is a video of what I found during our first spring shopping trip. We went to a consignment store, Old Navy and TJ Maxx and Target. I'll include below of everything we got from TJ Maxx since it was mainly necessities for our baby boy. I feel like I've gotten a good start with both of them for Spring. I still have quite a bit of shopping to do.

I also wanted to share everything that I found while going through Savannah's tubs. I was amazed at how much I'll be able to reuse. I'm very excited about passing these items down to him. Since I've been having some great luck selling Sav's things I plan to use that money to finish off both of their Spring and Summer wardrobe. My next plan of action is to do an inventory of what they have and then make a list of what I'd like them to have and anything else they need.

Stylish Saturday: Date Nights

As you may have seen on social media yesterday, I celebrated my twenty-ninth birthday! I am so excited to see what the last year of my twenties will be like. As you may also know, Valentine's Day is next week so it's kind of like my own little personal holiday season. I have to admit that I am not big on Valentine's Day but this year we are going to a couple's retreat stay-cation type thing and I'm looking forward to that.

As soon as I learned about our Valentine's Day plans I immediately thought about what I was going to wear. Of course. My husband gifted me with some amazing shoes for Christmas that I haven't worn yet and I figured next weekend would be a great time to debut them. Then I decided to try on a skirt that I purchased for a girls night out last year. I never got to wear it because I got really sick and pretty much killed GNO, haha!

I really love this skirt. I initially had a one shoulder blue top to wear with it. Since it's February I'll wear it with a black top and my flesh tone pumps. This outfit isn't quite out of the maternity department but as I said before I plan to wear much of what I already have. The skirt is banded and provides some stretch and it was pretty comfortable when I tried it on. It actually fit better than I remembered. I'll post some pics of my overall look next week. What will all of you be wearing next week for VDay?

Style Review: eShakti Sheath Dress

Have you all heard of eShakti? I was fortunate enough to receive one of their dresses for a review. I decided to go with a jersey sheath style to accomodate my growing belly. I immediately fell in love with the coral and black print. Since it's such a lightweight fabric I can wear throughout my entire pregnancy. Super excited about that!

Perhaps the best thing about shopping with eShakti is the ability to customize your item with your exact measurements. Awesome, right? The prices are great and the shipping was extremely fast. What I loved most about my dress was discovering that it had pockets. I didn't recall reading about the pockets in the description so I was very happy to find them. I felt so comfortable and cute in this dress!

What do you think? Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Oh. And if you love the idea of getting something made especially for you check out A Diary of a Chic Mommy's blog for an eShakti giveaway! She's giving away a customized item of your choice. Love it! Good Luck!

Stylish Saturday: Dance Recital

I just wanted to share the blouse that I wore to Sav's recital. I am in love with it. It's a silk top I found a year ago at White House Black Market. It was on the clearance rack and I couldn't pass it up. It was my first time wearing it and I paired it with jeans. I originally bought it to go with my tuxedo pants but those were fitting a bit snug tonight so I did jeans instead.

Stylish Saturday: Veteran's Day

Happy Veteran's Day everyone! We spent the morning in downtown San Antonio at the Veteran's Day parade. My soldier walked in the parade along with the other Sgt. Audie Murphy Club members. It was a beautiful windy morning and I was very excited about taking Sav to her first parade.

Once we got there I learned that they wanted the families to walk with him. I was cool with that but I felt bad because I wasn't dressed in red, white and blue. My plan was to stand on the side and take it all in. Apparently, I was the only wife with that plan because everyone else had on colors from old glory. Ah well. We'll get'em next year. Here are some self portraits of my outfit and a couple from the parade.

Stylish Saturday: Thrifted Lanvin Shirtdress

This was a pretty low key weekend for us. It was kind of rainy on Saturday so we didn't go out. Needless to say my outfit on Saturday was not post worthy. However, this morning I think I attended church in a very post worthy frock. Do you remember when I went thrifting and scored that Lanvin shirtdress? Well I finally got a chance to wear it today!

I am in love with this dress! The fit and the details are impeccable. I love the way the fabric felt against my skin. If I were still working I would definitely be placing this dress into my "wear to work" rotation. I am absolutely in love. What do you think? I still can't believe I only paid five dollars and fifty cents for this dress.

Stylish Saturday: Coral and Black Cynthia Rowley

I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday! I sure am. We went downtown and enjoyed some lunch on the Riverwalk. If you're ever in San Antonio make sure you check out the sites downtown.

You can take a tour of the Alamo downtown too, but we didn't do that today. Now for some fashion. The weather here in Texas is still pretty warm. However, since I'm an east coast girl I decided to just turn summer off and switch to some more Fall friendly clothes. There's just something odd about wearing sandals in October.

Today I wore a Cynthia Rowley top that I found at TJ Maxx. I love the coral and black stripes.

Leggings are from Express.

You can't really tell in the pics but my boots come way above my knee. Love them.

I tried a warmer red for my lips. The color is Amber Suede by Mary Kay. Oh. You didn't know, I'm a Mary Kay drop out.

Here are some more pics from our day. We had lunch at Dick's where the food is great and the service is sarcastically rude. Fun times!
