Chic Bump Watch: Second Trimester Bump Style

So far I haven't been wearing maternity clothes during this pregnancy. I have been doing the ponytail holder (rubber band) trick on my denim shorts or wearing things with an elastic waist. My boyfriend shorts from H&M have been amazing during these hot Summer days.

Once upon a time they fit loose and comfy. These days they are little snug but they still feel and look great.

Black continues to be my color of choice. You know how it is when you're still kind of early in your pregnancy...

Sometimes you look pregnant and sometimes you look like you got extra meat and guacamole at Chipotlé. I fluctuate between the two daily.

Due to the extreme heat that has finally made it's way to San Antonio I probably won't be wearing heels much after this. Maybe I'll pull out some booties in the Fall once it's a bit cooler. Maybe.

My husband and I will be going on a date in a couple weeks. I'm trying to find something cute and comfy to wear for that. We rarely ever get date nights so I always try to bring it with my outfit when we do get to go out. I'll share what put together on Instagram, stay tuned!

What do you think of my maternity style so far? What's your favorite thing to wear while rocking your bump?

Birthday Part Two: Date Night

Ugh. My computer has run out of memory and has been tripping. I apologize for the infrequency of posts but I hope to have my little situation resolved soon. Jesus be a terabyte.

Anyway. My birthday celebration continued on Saturday. My Mom and I (with the kids) went shopping during the day. We had a blast. I don't get girlfriend time like that often and I thoroughly enjoyed going from store to store and out to lunch. There's something about beautiful weather, a clean car with a full tank of gas and time out and about that makes me happy.

After shoe shopping the day away we headed back home. I opened all of my gifts before getting ready for our night out. Savannah and Little Mike gave me a card with a single one dollar bill in it, so sweet.

Since I didn't know exactly what my husband had planned for the evening I decided to wear a tuxedo blouse that I scored on sale years ago from Black House White Market. I paired it with some leather leggings and some of those strappy lace up booties that are in style right now.

We started off at dinner. I had been wanting to try out a japanese restaurant here so we headed there first. The food was okay and the service was slow. Luckily, my date was handsome and full of fun conversation.

Our next stop was to the SoHo Wine & Martini bar. There aren't enough good things to say about that place. There was live music, attentive and talented bartenders and pretty drinks. The drink below tasted just like a spiked Oreo cookie, yum!

I also really liked their mojito and the chocolate strawberry shortcake martini. I would go back there in a heartbeat. We ended the night dancing at a riverwalk hotspot before grabbing cake and more drinks at another popular place downtown.

I had so much fun. I'm looking forward to our next adventure out. We already have a couple places in mind that we want to visit.

Happy Birthday to me. Cheers to 31!

Chic Mom Style: Leather Leggings

A while back I did a post about Fall Fashion that included some of my fashion staples. One of the items included in that post was faux leather leggings. I could never quite bring myself to take the plunge and buy them. Mainly because I was afraid that they would look more like pleather and less like faux leather.

There is a big difference between the two.

I am drawn to them because they can be dressed up or down. You can go from day to night in these by changing your shoes and accessories and I love that. Not that my life requires me to go from day to night on a whim BUT  if it did these would be the perfect pants for that.

Yesterday I received an early birthday present in the mail from one of my favorite stores. After doing a bit of looking around online I see that their faux leather leggings have great reviews. Today I'm going to finally take my butt to the actual mall (I shop online) and try on these pants.

I have so many plans for them thanks to Pinterest. Visions of outfits are dancing in my head and I am beyond excited. I think I'll wear them for my birthday this weekend if the fit is as good as I expect it to be. Have you tried the faux leather legging trend?

Weekend Recap

This Saturday was the last regular season soccer game of the season. Next week we have a makeup game followed by a team party. When I get my Saturdays back I won't know how to act. Her game this past Saturday was at eight AM. The light is so beautiful that early in the morning...

After soccer we normally go to the playground for a bit. Little Mike tries to do everything he sees Sav doing. It's so funny. He's finally figured out what he likes at the playground. So far his favorite thing to do is the swings. Savannah loves the slides.

This weekend I also had the pleasure of decorating a pumpkin for a pumpkin contest that Savannah's class had. I thought we were doing something by glittering our pumpkin. Nope. When I picked her up today those pumpkins were HGTV worthy. If they're still on display tomorrow I will snap a pic for IG. I couldn't believe it. I'm still proud of our pumpkin.

Initially she wanted to make her pumpkin look like Saturn. After seeing all those pumpkins today I wish we had done that…

Friday was a busy day for me. I have recently fallen in love with midi dresses and skirts. I really love the floral print on this one. I paired it with my Coach sneakers for a laid back and comfortable look.

Stylish Saturday: Printed Skirt

Happy Saturday chic people! We're headed to the Children's Museum in Atlanta today. Sav will be having a mini reunion with her girlfriends one last time before we head west. Speaking of heading west, we got a house last week!! Go us, Go us!! I'm so excited! We ended up getting the larger home on post. Love that. Thank you Jesus!

Now back to our fashion post...This skirt is everything. I found it at the outlet mall near my parents house. Gap was having a major sale. Forty percent off of the clearance prices, sounds good to me! This skirt was on clearance for $27.99. Sooo 40% off of that made it a great deal.

I paired the skirt with a see through knitted tank from Express. It was a steal I found during an online sale. The skirt and top together come up to about thirty bucks. Chic right?
